To determine correct size, measure head circumference 2.5cm above eyebrows. Note: Head circumference measurements falling between two sizes should consider ordering the smaller size helmet. Helmet should sit level on the head at eyebrow level. Straps should sit close on the cheek and behind the ear. Buckle should allow opening of mouth while not being too loose.

The Lazer Z1 KinetiCore is an impressive lightweight helmet, and without sacrificing protection, leaves rivals in the shade on the scales.

This is the only helmet I've tested that seriously has me considering riding without an aero helmet this summer. If you already prefer a light and airy helmet, this is one of the best.

I am sure I’ll be grabbing this helmet often for road, gravel, and CX-style mountain biking.

It soon became a go-to for warm-weather riding thanks to 31 strategically placed vents that make it feel particularly light and airy.

The addition of Kineticore – a technology that seems to dramatically improve helmet performance without sacrificing safety – means the Z1 should be a recognizable name for years to come.

Great helmet. . . except no strap adjustability

"I've had several Lazer helmets (O2, Genesis, Blade, etc) over the years and always been pleased. This one doesn't have adjustability of the straps to tighten/reposition them near the ears/jaw area. Maybe my head is shaped weird, but this puts the chin strap too far back and more onto the neck just under the chin. Really uncomfortable and leaves a loose strap over the ear/jar area."

Light weight and Safe

"My small helmet is 228 grams (one of the lightest available). Excellent Virginia Tech crash score. Very good ventilation for long hot rides. If you want more Aero or cold weather protection, just snap on the optional aeroshell (sold separately). I'm not a big fan of the RollSys closure system (Lazer really should switch back to the rear BOA style closure), but all things considered, this is the helmet for me."

"What great technology. Kineticore. Light weight 220 grams, air blows around/threw the crumple zones. Has more cooling than not wearing any helmet. Covers the head perfectly, allows for ponytails. Allows heat to escape out the back even with a aeroshell on it. Flat black looks so sleek with the design. Kineticore tech and the design and aeroshell, give those designers a big raise. I LOVE wearing this helmet, LOVE IT!!! /chefskiss"

Q&A

How do i unsnap the chin strap: I reach on the left side of my chin and grasp the buckle to find the recessed buttons and these fore finger and thumb and squeeze it should come out! I do wish it had the magnetic connection that the mountain bike helmets have
